WindAge TDWG Systems Alternate Rotor Assemblies
When a piezoelectric crystal is suddenly bent, as in a disposable lighter, it produces
electricity. This electricity can be captured on an overpass by flexible TDWG
ducting--when it
is slightly bent by a blast of turbulent vehicle air--so that it does
not adversely influence the rotor’s smooth movement. This “bleed” energy can go into an
auxiliary battery and then to a small DC motor, to keep the rotor always nominally
turning in
typically low-ambient-wind environments.
